Book of Abstracts

Abstract

The Book of Abstracts of the IV International Congress of Interamericanist Students, titled “Error 404: Democracy Not Found? Political Reconfigurations in the Americas” (Bielefeld University, June 30–July 2, 2025), compiles the academic contributions presented during the three-day event.

It includes theoretical and empirical studies addressing the crises of democracy, political polarization, de-democratization, and migration processes across the Americas. The volume features interdisciplinary works from young scholars and researchers from Latin America and Europe, covering topics such as social movements in Bolivia, the rhetoric of Bolsonaro and Milei, artificial intelligence and democratic participation, gender and populism, and artistic narratives of migration and memory.

The collection reflects a transnational dialogue on the challenges and transformations of democracy in the region, highlighting new perspectives from sociology, literature, political science, and cultural studies.
